Rosalyn Cowe (BA (Hons) Event Management)
Rosalyn has joined the team here at Village Rentals & Property Management all the way from sunny Scotland – she left her home of twenty-three years after she had completed her BA (Hons) Event Management at the University of the West of Scotland. A couple of days after her graduation she boarded a plane and headed to the Southern Hemisphere – spending two years in Australia: camping in the outback, fishing on the West Coast, breaking in wild horses in Far North Queensland and gaining valuable management experience while working on a variety of events in one of the most prestigious venues in Sydney.
After Rosalyn’s time was up in Australia, New Zealand seemed to be the next logical step on her working holiday tour. Arriving in Auckland and deciding that a change was in order from the hectic lifestyle of event management she landed herself a job with Auckland Council – dealing primarily with the processes involved with applying for and issuing Building Consents. The ease of slipping into Auckland life, the temperate climate, the trendy cafe’s and the access to many a beach and bush walk has begun a love affair with Auckland which looks like it is built to last.
Another side step in her career has now brought her into the world of Property Management– although she is new within the business she is highly organised and is learning the ropes very quickly.
Being a tenant herself allows Rosalyn to put herself in the tenants position and this can be invaluable information in knowing how to capture the tenants needs and wishes ensuring the longevity of the tenant in the rental home. Understanding both the landlords and the tenants needs is a large part of the role in which we play, and Rosalyn always manages to find the balance and ensure an equilibrium can be kept.
